During the airport inspection, officials confiscated many countries' currency from his luggage, nearly Rs 26 lakh. US Dollars 8000, New Zealand Dollars 500, Pounds 60, Rials 40, and Euro 19,665, totaling Rs 26 lakh. The passenger did not have any legal proof proving the source of the foreign currency.
Officials claimed the passenger violated the Foreign Exchange Management Act of 1999 (Export and Import Currency) and other laws. They said that the matter is being investigated.
